Review of this semester:

During this semester, I thought I would fail my art class. I had taken Art before but it was the original “Drawing and Painting” class. Frankly, I was terrified that I would fail it because I’m not very creative and I can’t draw or paint very well. Unfortunately, Art class did have it’s moments where you had to draw or paint. But, there was no narrow objective to the assignments. Sure our instructor gave us directions to do the assignment successfully, but he gave us the freedom to do something within every assignment. If it was a drawing assignment, the instructor would let us draw anything we wanted to draw and you didn't have to paint it or color it. I was happy about that because I would’ve been unprepared if we had to draw or paint something. Everything in his class was easy. The instructor is also a very nice guy.

When I first signed up for this class, I thought the teacher would be just another normal teacher that was somewhat strict. I was shocked when his introduction video was him standing outside IN his pool. Just that alone made me excited to be in this class because it let me know that maybe art class won’t be so difficult. I was right. I have to admit, there were a few things that happened that didn’t exactly make us students happy. Like the time he had given us an assignment during class, and then two days after he gives us another one. It was quite unpleasant. But all of the students got it done and got a good grade for it.

This art class has allowed me to meet a lot of people. For example, if it wasn’t for this class, I wouldn’t have been able to meet my friend Jimena. Or Hunter, with who I did a collaborative project. They are both very nice people and I’m glad that I met them. I was able to meet Jimena in person which was a ton of fun, but unfortunately, college has kept us so busy that we are simply not able to see each other again. The classmates I had were amazing and although they seemed a little shy like I am, I knew that they were good people and that they would be someone very important within their line of work in the future.

Lastly, this is a thank you to professor Zucman. Thank you for being the coolest, most relaxed teacher of this semester. I enjoyed your class and I enjoyed you. Going to your class was like taking a break and getting away from all the stress that the other classes had given us students. I’m glad that your class was so easy but also gave us students the option to express ourselves rather than giving us a linear assignment and expecting us to do it that way. It’s also very unfortunate that we did not go to the beach this semester because that is something I really would’ve looked forward to. But I’m glad that your fall students will be able to have that opportunity. Again, thank you for being a great teacher this semester and I hope you have a good winter break and the rest of the semester.
